Kitten wellness:
You’ve gotten a new cute ball of fur, the litterbox, kitten food and toys, what’s next? We here at Animal MD would love to help you start on your journey with your new kitten. An exam should be scheduled as soon as possible to make sure your kitten is healthy. We will discuss a vaccine schedule, dietary recommendations and ways to enrich the environment of your kitten to keep your kitten playing in the right places.
When your kitten comes to Animal MD, Dr Bahns or Dr Boller will do a full exam from the tip of your kittens nose to the end of his/her tail. They may recommend testing for certain virus’ that cats can carry and answer any questions you may have. After the examination, our technicians will go over our kitten kit with you and let you know when your kitten will be due to come back for any examinations and vaccinations. It may seem like it’s a long journey but you will have a happy and healthy kitten that’s ready for adulthood.
When you bring your kitten to Animal MD please:
- Bring your kitten in a carrier

- Bring any records you may have for your kitten
Feline Adult Wellness:
You’ve gotten past the kitten stage and now you have a wonderful adult kitty. Annual examinations are very important for your kitty, even if your kitty never ventures into the great outdoors. There can be
subtle changes that Dr. Bahns or Dr. Boller may notice upon examination. Early detection and treatment of any health issue is the key to a long and healthy life for your kitty. Routine and annual examinations help to build a strong relationship between you, your pet and the staff of Animal M.D. This relationship will help us give you specific recommendations regarding vaccinations, lab work, diets and medications. Animal M.D. wants to help you have a happy and healthy kitty for many years.

Feline Senior Wellness:
Have you noticed several grey hairs or that your kitty seems to be slowing down a bit. It is time for a senior wellness examination. Dr. Bahns and Dr. Boller highly recommend having your senior kitty come in for an examination every six months as changing can happen quickly in a senior pet. Upon examination, even if your older feline family member seems healthy, we may suggest some non-invasive tests and/or procedures. Early detection is the key to a longer, healthier life for your older feline pet. If the results of these tests come back with no problems, then we can use these results as a “baseline” which we can use if your older feline family member became ill in the future. If there are any abnormalities, then we get a plan started to help control the disease.
We send home a Senior Report Card with every six month check-up. This will have any recommendations that Dr Bahns or Dr Boller may have for your older feline family member.
So when your kitty reaches those golden years, there is no need to worry. Together, we can continue to strive for a high quality of life, and with early detection, we can help make these golden years the most rewarding years.
